SHOP: Boris Bidjan Saberi Leather Pouch Wallet

we're in love with this boris bidjan saberi wallet. the distressed, super soft calfskin leather wallet unravels to become a pouch divided into three sections while the leather-coated drawstring and toggle hold it closed.  the wallet has the appeal of something from an entirely different age, a time when things were once rugged and wild but the design still retains a discernible modern edge. although unraveling your wallet may not be the most practical thing it's still a cool piece to own.

SHOP: Eyebob Nudnik Sunglasses

with the promise of a little more sunshine, it's time to start looking for a new pair of shades. we're loving these eyebob nudnik pair. eyebob works a play on the classic clubmaster by adding a keyhole bridge. we could totally see a kennedy out on the vineyard in this tortoiseshell pair. they're also pretty affordable.

TREND: Neon Soles

©CARBONvi

the 90s are in fact back. after jil sander's spring 2011 collection made it's way to the runway color blocking and neons have found their way into everything from editorials to the bottom of your shoes. designers by the likes of raf simons to footwear label mark mcnairy have taken to brightening up soles--of your shoes of course. it seems like every color of the spectrum is available for an added pop of color. their concept is perfect for those who enjoy the subtle, for example, the black leather, Jil Sander derby shoes can be worn like any other regular pair but the hot pink heel and sole will attract the attention of those who take the time to look. we chose 4 of our favorites for you, see below where to find them!
(from upper left clockwise)

Jil Sander Memphis 999 Derby Shoe: Oki-ni $722
Mark McNairy New Amsterdam Wingtip Blucher: Barneys $395

A. Sauvage Spring 2011 Collection

british designer, adrian sauvage's spring 2011 collection is quite incredible. featuring classic menswear pieces tailored perfectly for the the modern man. with pieces like a deep, plum velvet tuxedo jacket, charcoal three-piece-suit and bright red trousers all tailored for an ultra slim fit. our favorite piece is the blazer sporting a digital, light grey houndstooth print.

The Men at Paris Fashion Week: Color Done Right

shot by tommy ton

with the spring season approaching and bright colors being the strongest trend in menswear, we thought a great example of how to do color right was needed. it might be hard to pull off all three of the primary colors at once but this guy really knows what he's doing. the mustard cable knit sweater paired with the royal blue pleated trousers is an amazing combination, both pieces are comparable in saturation so they work well and instead of going with a neutral shoe, the red continues the pop of of color from top to bottom. the camel coat anchors the look, the length of the coat and the soft neutral of the camel holds all of the color together.

SHOP: The Jack Collection Denim Bow Tie

we're not really into the bow tie look but we have to make an exception for these two from NYC men's accessories label, the jack collection. we love the fact that they are denim, it takes the formal and prepster edge off of a traditional bow tie. these would also be great pieces to pick up with spring coming--at $21.99 each you can't really say no. they come in two shades: a darker raw denim and a lighter chambray version. they are part of a "teaser" series the label is releasing until the jack collection's full debut launches in the fall of this year.

STREETSTYLE: Spring Mutes

with the weather being slightly kinder the past few days we're allowing ourselves to get a little more excited about spring. we love the dustiness of the color combination above, the light blue pants and a muted, sandy sweater help shake off the winter darks. the color palette is soft as well as the textures. the more rugged canvas tote and well-worn, suede oxfords with socks help ground the outfit as a transition, even though it leans toward a spring-ier influence.

Creative Recreation Turino Lows & Mids

we rarely get excited about sneakers but the creative recreation turino series is definitely an exception. the footwear label has added some color and texture to their existing turino collection with burnished suede and tumbled leather styles. we love the semi-hidden laces and the super clean, minimalist design. we're thinking a pair of the burgundy tumbled leather low tops and the all black leather mids for ourselves.

SHOP: Maria Rudman Bracelets

swedish jewelry designer, maria rudman spent quite sometime working with the sami craftsmen of scandinavia to put together an incredible collection of men's wristwear. each piece is made of a colorful leather strap, super-fine pewter coils and reindeer antler buttons. the visible stitching and rustic irregularity of each piece is what makes them worth the price. maria rudman has taken a centuries old tradition of scandinavian craftsmanship and translated it into an amazing set of contemporary accessories. these would be great for adding a tribal touch to your spring looks.

FEATURE: Philip-Lorca diCorcia's Eleven Exhibit

we recently checked out the philip-lorca dicorcia exhibit entitled eleven at the david zwirner gallery on 19th street, here in manhattan. the exhibit featured photographs from 11 years worth of editorials dicorcia shot for magazine.
a dicorcia photograph is expertly planned although the image seems as if the moment was captured accidentally. his photographs for W are very much considered “fashion photography” but his work marks a distinct concept and change in the idea of what exactly “fashion photography” is. his photographs are not necessarily about the product, there is little exhibition of clothes—even if the subjects are outfitted in calvin Klein or chanel.
his images captured models of his choice in extremely loaded photographs, documenting a created experience. the angles and the subject matter always reminds us that we are voyeurs and that we are in fact looking at something we could only look at had the image been taken by him.

SHOP: Gucci Woven Leather Holdall

we're dying.
this bag is amazing, the leather is perfectly tanned and the intricately weaved bands add texture without taking away from the suppleness of the rest of the bag. this is what a men's carry-all should look like---we see it paired with anything: a pair of dark denim jeans and a chunky cardigan or a deep navy suit and if you dare, it could make a beautiful beach bag.

The Men at London Fashion Week: Neon Marled Socks

shot by tommy ton

not only are chunky marled socks a way of keep your feet warm, they look great peaking out under a cuffed jean or a pair of brogues. we love how this guy is having fun with color, the neon green and pink yarns against the navy blue brogues are subtle enough for a passing glance but worthy of lots of attention.

STREETSTYLE: Abstract Addition

we're intrigued by this blazer. we can't tell if it's one piece or if he added it himself, but we love the abstract, matisse-like curves of the white appliques. if it is removable it would be amazing to include it in a variety of outfits but it adds an architectural feeling to this other wise uncomplicated look.

SHOP: Proenza Schouler PS1 Tote

we know the ps1 by proenza schouler is marketed towards women but we are totally in love with the ps1 tote series. the bag is practical and fairly masculine-- the elongated, notched straps add a great visual touch along with functionality. these are three of the four color options offered, and we kind of want each one and considering they are proenza they are comparable in price to any other high-end bag you might be thinking about buying, but this one seems to have a timeless touch.
